I’m a biologist who enjoys observing and illustrating birds. I work mainly with coloured pencils and acrylics on paper, usually in small to medium formats (A6 to A3). My materials are simple and easy to find (nothing fancy) which makes the process straightforward and enjoyable. I’ve liked birds since childhood, when I used to watch blue tits and great tits outside the window. The real spark came later, during my master’s studies, when a colleague’s enthusiasm for birds got me more actively interested. Since then, I’ve found that birds are ideal subjects to photograph and paint: they’re active, colourful, and incredibly diverse. My illustrations are a way to look more closely at species I find interesting, and to share that sense of curiosity with others.
